Adriano Gemelli started his art career living and studying at the Dunmoochin artist colony in Victoria, Australia, with Clifton Pugh and Frank Hodginson in the early seventies. In 1998 he was granted a patent on a new holographic technique he developed which resulted in a series of works titled “Sea & Water” 1996-2002. In his recent works he has confronted the compositional formula of his last show, resulting in the pushing of his own boundaries to redefine the relationship between holographic and mixed media composition and structural arrangement of the canvases. Over the course of his career, he has repeatedly renewed his artistic approach. These creative shifts have allowed the artist to produce an essential body of work, exciting both for its formal ingenuity and firm foundation in the dialogue between the natural and the abstract.
