"From the Swabia to the Waterkant!
A short time ago impishly grinning water sprites and laughing nymphs from the pictures by Benita Röll started to appear. It´s no wonder though, as the artist feels deeply moved by the North Friesian landscape.That´s how her new home gained acceptance in her works.
Benita Röll has been living in the diversly changing environment on Nordstrand since last year, where she wanders for hours on end through the low lying region to take in the colours,"This is where you get a clear head. This is really a satisfying countryside", says Röll, describing her impressions with an obvious Swabish accent. On the 4th of May B.Röll, who originally came from Stuttgart, opened her art studio in the Husumer Gürtlerhof. Röll immediately fell in love with this area on the harbour. More than anything she praises the lovely neighbourhood.
On first sight one can hardly believe that all exhibits are painted by the same hand, such varied expressions: pictures, poems, hats & bags, it´s of no suprise really as Röll´s work alongside being an artist is also a goldsmith and a dressmaker.
For a long time Röll grew with the idea of making more out of her passionate hobby. After selling up in Stuttgart she´d already realised her long disired dream.
The recognised perfectionist made room in her bright studio so that the individual pieces of work could begin to be felt. Everything was revolved around three themes: poetry, roses and the maritime life, all of which she combines in ever changing variations...."
