The Harlequin of the Comedia del arte is the inspiration for this work. It is seen being carried by the artist into the Fortezza di Montalcino during an exhibition in Italy in 2000.
The central work in the series which was shown in Europe and North America under the name, A New Arcadia. It is also the name of the 2003 television documentary on the artist''''s life and work.
