Modern Urban-Expressionism, The Art of Marcus Antonius Jansen
Marcus Antonius Jansen, artist and visionary who has been awarded his place in Who's Who in American Art, alongside some of the most noteworthy men and women in today's art world and appointed Associated Academician in the Department of the Arts, by the Academia Del Verbano Di Litery, Arti,Scienze, in Italy.

Jansen was born 1968 in New York City and is a discharged Sergeant/Non Commissioned Officer and Gulf War Veteran. In 1997, he decided to follow his higher calling to serve as an artist/painter highlighting social truth's his later years. He is the originator of the title "Modern Urban-Expressionism" and had his first exhibition in 1974 at New York City's Park Avenue Lever House at age six. Educated in Europe and the United States, Jansen grew up speaking German as his second language and conversational Dutch, he has traveled extensively throughout Western and Eastern Europe and lived in places such as SW and SE Asia. Jansen grew up between New York City and Germany, he started painting in 1982 after meeting "WEST", notorious graffiti art legend in Manhattan and soon after worked with European Talkshow host and close friend Daisy Dee, VIVA TV. The William & Mary Review that since 1957 has been publishing important scholarly work selected Mr. Jansen for their May 2007 publication.

He was awarded New Artist of the Year 2005 by the Alliance for the Arts and selected for the Russian VIII Contemporary Art Biennial "Dailogues" in St. Petersburg. He was one of eight American artists selected for the print category at the 12th International Print & Drawing Biennial at the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Art that included intl. Juror David Kiehl, Whitney Museum of Art. The Tampa Museum of Art under/CURRENT/over/VIEW 8 Florida State Biennial, under the Jury of Jeffrey Grove Curator at the High Museum Atlanta named Jansen a winner in it's competition last year as well. Mr. Jansen has collaborated with the "Father" of Digital Art Laurence Gartel and (MOMA's) former "Rockefeller Fellow" Professor Jerome Allan Donson on his first book. Jansens work hang in international collections, private as well as Museums. In France, renowned art connoisseur and Curator of the 1968, "des illuminations de Noël" at de l'avenue des Champs-Elysées Jean Marc Alphan helped established the first soley committed Jansen Gallery in le Marais Art district Paris France, the American Art Gallery.
