It’s difficult to define Art, so vague so indefinable today...
To me art means painting the old fashioned way with pencil and paint brushes, finding your fingers dirty at the end of the day.
Painting for me is a necessity but also a job, a job I love. It enables me to enter into peoples homes and, through my work, leave some part of myself behind...
The work is completed when a finished piece of art emerges through the artist’s instincts and then in turn is rielaborated by the perception and sensibility of the admirer who watches it.
It appeals to me use natural wood, it’s a living material and the veins are accidentally intersected with the lines I trace.
Sometimes I use ply-wood or hardboard or even elaborate on retrieved objects such as shutters, old windows or anything else that gives me inspiration to draw or paint on.
Finally golden leaf...it’s worth is simbolic but also decorative. The gold offers up a warm surrounding light.
