Michaela Steinacher, born near Vienna in 1972, grew up with a creative passion that has been an integral part of her life since childhood. Her first attempts at art were hampered by strict rules in art class, which limited her creative freedom. But these early obstacles only strengthened her resolve to find her own artistic path. A life-changing moment came when she was confined to bed for months during her pregnancy due to complications. During this challenging time, she found her way back to art and rediscovered it as a powerful source of healing and expression.
A stroke of fate as an opportunity
When she was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago, Steinacher once again proved her resilience. Art helped her to get through this time and served as an outlet for her emotions and a way to find inner strength. In her works, she takes us into seemingly meaningless scenes of everyday life or simply into a facial expression that stands as a metaphor for the action itself and gives them a new meaning. She uses her art to address transformation and the value of change - concepts that deeply inform her and are considered a central trademark of her work.
Steinacher also developed her own haptic symbol, which can be found in all her works as a symbol of permanence through change.
