Michaela Steinacher's creative process uniquely combines masterful precision with her artistic vision of seeing change as a signpost and an opportunity to shape the future according to our criteria.
Her style, which she describes as “abstract realism”, combines abstract and realistic elements and is characterized by a clear recognition value. Her art, which highlights social contrasts and at the same time shows the possibility of respectful coexistence, has attracted international attention and has already been exhibited in countries such as the USA, Russia, Germany and Austria. Steinacher's works are not only regarded as collector's items, but also as inspiring contributions to social change and sustainable thinking that are appreciated by art experts and collectors alike.
Symbiosis of opposites
My painting process is characterized by a multi-layered working method. It begins with a charcoal sketch, which serves as the basis for the monochrome grounding. This is followed by meticulously modeled layers of paint, which create new tensions and networks of relationships through their superimposition. Deliberately placed open spaces serve as visual pauses for breath in the dense network of realistic details and abstract surfaces. This interplay between realism and abstraction reflects both the tensions and the hidden potential of our time and makes my art a powerful plea for transformation.
