Since 2001, the artist Kasten-Jerke has been dedicated to experimental painting – an open, intuitive process of image-making. At its core lies a dialogue with material, surface, and moment.
Her works emerge from the everyday. Color, line, and form condense into multilayered compositions. Soft tones meet strong accents – opening up image spaces of lightness.
Traces, overlays, and markings remain visible. The surface becomes a site of densification – between control and letting go.
The works move between stillness and movement, between detail and open space. They create room to breathe.
Kasten-Jerke describes her painting as
“the art of breathing space.”
The painting process is essential: a concentrated immersion without a predefined goal.
“Painting enriches my life – often a single tone, a single surface is enough to move me.”
COMMISSIONS
Individual abstract paintings are created in close collaboration. Format and color mood are defined together – resulting in a personal artwork with its own presence.
